“What if all of the love that you ever dream of already belongs to you?”

I took a couple of days of personal retreat last month. I rested, but even more nourishing to me, I leaned into the creative energy I felt. One of the projects I worked on was this fall Spotify playlist, noticing what my soul felt drawn to. As I looked over it later, I saw themes of being in the present moment, my belonging, and a handful of songs featuring artists singing wisdom to themselves.

There’s also a spoken word track by Imelda May asking the question “What is Love?” She then recounts “Love’s reply.” While it’s a departure from my usual genres, it feels good. It evokes something visceral and warm in me.

And the lyrics of Jess Ray’s “What If” song are like a balm to my soul, soothing and invitational.

This past week I had the opportunity to step into courage and conviction—to live into what’s been unfolding in my soul over the past couple of years. I was aware that I might lose resources and, possibly, a relationship. What I discovered as I geared up for a hard conversation is that my soul had curated what I needed to hear on that very day. I share that playlist with you here.
