Recognition: An Invitation to Now

A close up image of a bright green horse tail plant fresh with morning drew drops.

We meet in Presence, unbound by maps and clocks. Here, on the underside of time, minutes melt into the precise depth needed for aliveness to rekindle.

I am always, already here. It is always, already NOW. And still, I forget. I forget.

In the presence of this honesty, good and bad meld together until I can no longer tell them apart. In the presence of this honesty, I remember that I am, and we are.

I open to the possibility of renewed attention. A warm wind stirs sensation awake in every cell. A feeling I recognize dawns freshly in my heart as I meet an old friend for the first time. A knowing gathers without strain.

Gratitude surges as I realize the only word my lips remember is the only key that unlocks this door. Silently, in a whisper, or in full voice, I say YES.

Here’s an audio reading of a poem about recognition…

Recognition
Written and Read by Kirsten Harrison

My name is Kirsten. I accompany folks as they attune to the inner experiences of life in spiritual direction, a place of presence and connection, a place to anchor briefly amid the chaos, a spacious place to be seen and known. To read more about this type of accompaniment, visit my offerings page.
